Clevertech designed and delivered a depalletizing system for a company, leader in the confectionery industry. The project regarded a bottling line of PET cans.
The presence of and old machine affected the performance of the bottling line causing stoppages and the presence of operators who had to pick up again the PET cans. Clevertech offered an operational solution with small space required for the machine and considered also the requirement to have in the same working side the handling of empty and full pallets. The system developed is a robotic depalletizing cell with a vacuum picking head and an efficient pump able to pick also partial layers. Moreover, the value of the vacuum system produced by the picking head/blower guarantees the entirety of the cans which are not imploded. After the depalletizing process, the system divided the cans conveying them in the single conveyors towards another filling machine. The implementation of the connection has been done in order to avoid any stoppages of the cans in the transition areas and so increase the productivity of the system.
The system works at different speeds reaching the performance of 0,8 layers/min with a 99% efficiency.

The development of artificial intelligence and robotics seems to have important consequences in the world of work: someone even talks of catastrophic impacts on employment. It depends on the use that will be made of the opportunities that future development offers us. According to a recent report by the McKinsey Global Institute, the automated activities in almost two-thirds of jobs in the world could have increased at least of 30% by 2030: it would mean changing the lives of 800 million employees.
However, it may not be so negative: McKinsey believes that the new technology will take care of the most "hard" job and will allow humans to take care of what they like most in the creative and innovative sphere. This would be a great opportunity for humankind to progress while minimizing costs.
